Time flies, when we are committed to a mission — By the mark of 2022 SAP have entered a mission to enhance our capabilities our reach for the next decade to all its esteemed customer who acquired success with SAP HANA.

As we are all aware that SAP has released SAP HANA 2.0 SPS 05 in 2020 with a 5-year maintenance window. With this product it could provide its consumers incredible customer adoption, and transcending its quality and resilience goals. SAP is always focused on inventing the subsequent set of compelling features and enhancements in their upcoming new version –SAP HANA 2.0 SPS 06.

SAP HANA 2.0 SPS 06 version is now functional as of December 3, 2021, and will have a 2-year maintenance window.

Key Deliverables of SAP HANA 2.0 SPS 06

  • Providing impactful new attributes to further lower total-cost-of-ownership (TCO)
  • Continue to improve and enhance security and administration abilities & capabilities for improved database functions with more efficiency and flexibility.
  • SAP Continues to invest in expanding & developing its already existing robust backup & recovery capabilities.
  • The new Version SAP HANA 2.0 SPS 06, will now deliver full back-up compression which also includes compression of log files and catalog data.
  • This also includes the capacity to park a back-up file in a podium area and run repeated point-in-time recoveries.
  • Strong enhancement in Back-ups and Recovery methodologies. by scheduling system-wide scheduler, many other administrative tasks can be organized which even operates across multiple tenants in a Multi-tenant Database Container (MDC) configuration
  • Attaining Lower TCO by these back-up & recovery enhancements provide customers with more options and easier administration.

In addition, we can also view increasingly diverse workloads on its customers’ SAP HANA landscapes, They have persisted to enhance the native workload regime functionality.

In SAP HANA 2.0 SPS 06, customers can now set up workload class hierarchies with integrated access management, and administrators can scan workload class statistics in real-time. This authorizes for improved workload management administration, flexibility, and visibility.

Many SAP HANA customers use SAP’s ‘capture & replay’ tool, with which they can now jump-start to a certain replay point-in-time and can execute real-time computation and analysis for replay blocking circumstances. This feature can help SAP administrators be more efficient and precise to detect, analyze, and verify any conceivable issues before applying changes or upgrades.

NSE (SAP HANA native storage extension) is a typically used and established technology to deliver scalability and intelligent data tiering by positioning data in hot and warm storage. The capability to do this can optimize the SAP HANA memory footprint, while at the same time helping consumers to lower prices and enhance price/performance aspects. With SAP HANA 2.0 SPS 06, They have added another set of new characteristics that support customers by guiding with an enhanced NSE consultant expanded monitoring, as well as research capabilities and online (re-)partitioning. Administrators can now exclude database entities from suggestions and can configure the system so that statistical data is stored on NSE. This further decreases the memory footprint and finally the TCO
